Everything You Need to Know About…
Seminar for Advanced Industrial Control Applications (SAICA) 2007
SAICA 2007 will be held in Madrid at the Gomez Pardo Foundation, November 5th and 6th. The focus of the event is to bring leading professionals from industry and academia together, to find real control solutions to real industrial control problems.
Held over a Monday and Tuesday, participants are welcome to come to Madrid early and experience the local cultural sites and historic zones that make this leading Western European capital city so unique. Top sites include the Museo del Prado, Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace and El Retiro park.
Speakers will be from both the industrial and academic world, and from across IEEE regions 8 and 9. Top academic institutions such as the UPM and the UNED in Madrid, and the UPC in Barcelona sent delegates to past editions of SAICA. From the industrial perspective, we had contributors from top companies such as Repsol YPF, Endesa, and Huntsman-Tioxide. We also had representatives from top government organizations such as Canal de Isabel II (water treatment body for the Community of Madrid) and CIEMAT (Spanish Research Agency supported by the EU).

Overview
Papers whose content is deemed to be within the technical scope of SAICA 2007, and whose author has requested that the paper be submitted for review, will be reviewed by committee created by the organizing team of the seminar. The screening committee will be made up both IAS and CSS members who understand the requirements associated with IAS and CSS, or more generally IEEE, periodicals. The ultimate decision to select a submitted paper will be based on the quality of relevant content, and on the probability that the selected paper would be accepted to one of the IAS or CSS periodicals. A key requirement for SAICA is that only papers actually presented at the seminar will be considered for review.
